Religious Priest
So often when we think of a priest, we think of the priest serving
in your parish. Some men who choose to become a priest choose to join
religious orders. Religious priests are also ordained to serve the Church
in specialized ministries and as ministers of the sacraments. Priests
choosing this calling also take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.
A religious priest's ministry may take him where he is needed. He may
be a missionary and go overseas or elsewhere in the United states, anywhere
his religious superior sends him. His ministry might include teaching,
social work, pastoral, chaplaincy, etc.
"He said to them, 'Come after me, and I will
make you fishers of men'" ~ Matthew 4:19
